The Sociedad Chilena de la Criósfera (SOCHIRI) [Chilean Society of the Cryosphere] is an association of professionals interested in the study of the cryosphere and the glacial and periglacial environment. They are currently organizing their first congress, which will be held on March 8 and 9 at the Universidad Austral de Chile in Valdivia.

During the congress, topics on climatology, glaciology, and glacier hydrology will be discussed, as well as the establishment of the society itself.

The registration fee until February 28 will be CLP 10,000 for students and CLP 20,000 for general admission. After that date, registration will cost CLP 15,000 for students and CLP 25,000 for general admission.
